Butler Books is a Louisville, Kentucky-based full service publisher of trade nonfiction, fiction and illustrated books. Since 1989, the company has published hundreds of titles spanning a wide variety of subjects, including History, Photography, Nature, Biography, Sports, Travel, Architecture, Arts and Crafts, Health and Fitness, Children's, Medicine, Cooking, Parenting, Women's Issues, Religion and much more.
The company adopted Minerva Books, LLC as an imprint in the fall of 2004. Minerva operates as the commercial book publishing company for the University of Louisville and its faculty.
Cofounder Bill Butler, who died in July of 2009, began publishing books in 1980. A former advertising agency executive, Butler directed several Louisville book publishing entities throughout the decade before founding his own, Butler Books, in 1989.
Bill authored 11 books for Simon and Schuster, HarperCollins, Viking Penguin, William Morrow, Summit, and Crown. He published over 300 titles under the Butler Books imprint, and designed, produced and marketed custom-packaged books for hundreds of clients around the world, including private individuals, corporations, associations, museums, trade groups, churches, fundraising organizations and major Manhattan publishers.
Carol Butler, also a cofounder of Butler Books, now serves as its President and CEO. She is an attorney and executive editor with over 15 years experience as a professional project and event director.
Carol previously served as a Special Assistant to the Mayor of Louisville and as a Special Assistant to the President and Director of Special Projects and Events at the University of Louisville. Prior to serving in those positions, she practiced law for several years, and served as General Counsel to the Majority Leadership of the Kentucky House of Representatives and to the Kentucky Industrial Development Finance Authority. In 1981 she became the first woman to serve as General Counsel to a Kentucky Governor, John Y. Brown, Jr.
William P. (Billy) Butler serves as Vice-President of Butler Books and is in charge of the company's marketing, office management, order fulfillment and distribution.

All orders ship via US Postal Service unless otherwise requested. Our standard shipping method, by Media Mail, typically arrives within 7 days, but may take up to 2 weeks.
Priority Mail and UPS shipping options are also available, however the rates will be higher. Priority Mail typically takes 2 days to arrive; UPS times vary by method. Please allow one business day to process your order (e.g. An order placed Monday with Priority shipping will be sent on Tuesday for expected arrival on Thursday).
